REQUIREMENTS
In the manufacture of timber trusses – which are used above all as a structural and visual element in construction projects – a number of wooden boards are provided with a profile on their top and bottom and then glued together. For this, wood glue is applied to the profile via the glue combs (see above), then hardener with a “hardener comb” (comparable geometry). The “teeth” of the glue combs dispense the glue in a very precisely dosed way. The individual boards are then placed on top of each other by machine and pressed. Accompanying production, the glue and hardener combs have to be cleaned again and again, since they become clogged with drying residues (see left area of the image above) and can then no longer be positioned exactly and dispense evenly.
Up to now, for lack of alternatives, these combs are cleaned either purely mechanically or with a high-pressure cleaner. Both cleaning processes result in a deformation of the teeth. The resulting alignment effort leads to additional time delays.
Through the low pressure and the high temperatures, we were able to achieve exceptionally good and fast cleaning results with a 1000 SR and the cleaner 1000 HDF, without damaging the teeth. These tools are made of V4A material. The glue comb can therefore be made available to production again considerably faster. Both the glue and the hardener are acidic media that can be passivated with the 1000 HDF.

OUR SOLUTION
Up to now, for lack of alternatives, these combs are cleaned either purely mechanically or with a high-pressure cleaner. Both cleaning processes result in a deformation of the teeth. The resulting alignment effort leads to additional time delays.
Through the low pressure and the high temperatures, we were able to achieve exceptionally good and fast cleaning results with a 1000 SR and the cleaner 1000 HDF, without damaging the teeth. These tools are made of V4A material. The glue comb can therefore be made available to production again considerably faster. Both the glue and the hardener are acidic media that can be neutralised with the 1000 HDF.
YOUR BENEFITS
- Efficiency/quality: Considerably faster and very thorough cleaning of the glue combs, the teeth and the nozzles. The high temperature of up to 95°C contributes to a liquefaction of the glue and hardener residues and thus to optimised rinseability.
- Nevertheless no damage to the teeth because of the low pressure
- The high temperature also contributes to very fast drying of the workpieces.
- Mobility: Cleaning on site – the units are mobile and largely self-contained – saves assembly, travel and transfer times.
- Occupational and environmental protection/chemicals: Only little chemicals are needed; this spares the environment, increases occupational safety and lowers costs.
- The wastewater situation is considerably eased, since process water can be used in a circuit for up to 3 weeks. This saves chemicals and disposal costs.
- Universal usability of the hot-water cleaning units, e.g. for servicing and maintenance or for machine and parts cleaning
- Economy: Considerably less working time when cleaning, as well as for assembly, travel and transfer times; less chemicals and less wastewater
- Overall: Comparatively low investment and hardly any running costs, but in return high efficiency and quality.
