REQUIREMENTS
Cast bodies are manufactured from the most varied materials and in all conceivable sizes. Especially with smaller units, accessibility to the inside of the body for cleaning is not readily given.
Here, what generally matters above all is the removal of fine chips from machining including oil / cooling lubricant and the so-called casting sand.
PREVIOUS TECHNOLOGY
Typically, compressed air is used in the hope of completely blowing out contamination, or ultrasonic cleaning technology in suitably dimensioned baths. Both alternative techniques are not result-reliable and represent rather an attempt by users to minimise complaints.

OUR SOLUTION
With the low-pressure hot-water cleaning method, optimal results are achieved in practice in cleaning even complex cast bodies. These can be cleaned ideally in the parts-cleaning tray of the units of the SR family, and even cavities and interiors can, despite the difficult accessibility, be reached and rinsed out with the help of various nozzles, such as the flexible nozzle (see accessories).
Thus, low-pressure hot-water cleaning is the considerably more efficient and faster, and also significantly more cost-effective, process compared with ultrasonic baths or washing machines. Thanks to the low pressure of up to 7.5 or up to 14 bar, damage-free cleaning is possible without any problem, even on sensitive components.
If required, alkaline cleaners with corrosion protection can also be used.
At the customer’s premises, tests were carried out with cast bodies that were covered with a Makrolon pane. Cleaning with a flexible nozzle SR-FX in the cavities of the cast body was demonstrated.
YOUR BENEFITS
- Efficiency: At up to 95°C, contamination is softened and transported away with low pressure.
- Time saving: Considerably shorter processing times and higher cleaning quality result
- Quality: Thanks to the flexible nozzle, even hard-to-reach areas, in the specific case even cavities, are easily accessible.
- Medium: Cleaning with water, possibly with the addition of about 3% alkaline cleaner, or deionised water.
- Environment/chemicals: Hence minimal use of chemicals, thus environmentally friendly and cost saving
- No damage to the workpiece, no rust formation.
- Higher occupational safety: no risk of injury, no/hardly any chemicals.
- Easy handling motivates the employees.
