In shipping there are various applications:
Marinas and shipyards can use the ph-cleantec hot-water cleaning units for cleaning private boats and ships, but also commercial trawlers and cutters. The very confined interiors in particular, the galley, the on-board toilets as well as bilge, engine and engine room and shafts can be cleaned ideally with our units, because with these units you get into every crevice and need very little water and usually no chemicals.
Harbour masters can lend the units (for a fee) to boat owners; shipyards can pre-clean and finish-clean the ships delivered to them.
In international shipping, i.e. with large ships and tankers, the lay times in the ports are a truly decisive factor: it is often crucial to reduce harbour fees and increase sailing times by shortening the lay times. Depending on the size of the ship, this can amount to many thousands of euros per hour (!). By using the ph-cleantec units, the time required for cleaning work on engines, gearboxes, shafts – in short, all moving and lubricated parts – can, in our experience, be reduced by 80–90%.
This opens up an enormous opportunity for service providers and shipyards that specialise in cleaning ships and tankers and use the ph-cleantec units: If they can carry out a ship cleaning in 30 hours instead of 36 hours, that is an enormous competitive advantage over the competition. These companies can work considerably faster, thereby securing contracts, and still charge more, because the shipowner saves several hours of lay time.
