With the daily use of escalators, dirt and dust fluff collect in the steps, which can under certain circumstances lead to a fire. The steps therefore have to be serviced regularly and a fire-protection cleaning carried out. During the general cleaning, all steps are removed and cleaned inside and out.

Up to now, these steps have been cleaned either purely mechanically or with a high-pressure cleaner at a wash bay. For this, a suitable wash bay has to be available.
