REQUIREMENTS
Extremely high demands are placed on tools. Among other things, they have to be cleaned when they are subjected to a quality check or used in another machine tool. Tools that have spent a longer time in the tool magazine without being used often show heavy contamination from dried-on cooling lubricant and chips.
PREVIOUS TECHNOLOGY
Typically, tools are cleaned with brush and cold cleaner. Washing machines are mostly ruled out, since the cutting geometry varies greatly and the milling heads are of different sizes. The tool grippers can normally only be cleaned in situ.

OUR SOLUTION: THE LOW-PRESSURE HOT-WATER ALTERNATIVE
Tools can be cleaned ideally in the parts-cleaning tray of the units of the SR family from ph-cleantec. With the help of brush attachments, even stubborn contamination can be cleaned very well. In doing so, the brush dampens the splash-back effects.
Cleaning directly in the tool magazine is particularly easy: the tools can be sprayed off directly in the magazine with the lance, including the tool holder and tool gripper.
Thanks to the mobility of the ph-cleantec units, the tools can be cleaned directly at the respective machine. Thanks to the unique method – high temperatures and low pressure – the otherwise required aggressive cleaners can usually be dispensed with. These can therefore not be introduced into the machine tool, and the units work in a particularly environmentally and health-friendly way.
Above all, compared with conventional methods, 80–90% of the working time is generally saved.

YOUR BENEFITS
- Quality: Stuck-on cooling lubricant and chips or cutting oil are rinsed off gently by the high temperature and the low pressure.
- Efficiency: With the lances, even the furthest corner of the tool magazine is reached effortlessly.
- Efficiency: Tools can stay in the tool holder and be cleaned along with it.
- Time saving/costs: The saving in working time and downtime compared with manual cleaning is enormous. Even a tool magazine with 60 places is cleaned in a few minutes; customers regularly save 80–90% in working time and thus downtime.
- Medium/no foreign substances: Use of the machine’s own cooling lubricant or cutting oil. Hence no dilution of the emulsion and no introduction of foreign substances. Cooling lubricant or cutting oil can be filled into the tank of the low-pressure hot-water unit or drawn from the tank of the machine tool.
- Occupational safety: The operator does not have to reach into the machine with their hands; hence no injuries.
- Environmental protection/resources: No chemicals, minimal resources (electricity)
- Economy: Low investment, low running costs, but high time saving.
