Application / requirement

Street lamps, and especially the glass housing, have to be freed of soot, spider webs and small creatures at regular intervals, or when a defective bulb is replaced.

PREVIOUS TECHNOLOGY

Everything was laboriously cleaned by hand with the help of hand brushes and cloths. The time required per lamp is about 60 minutes including removal, servicing and recommissioning. Strong chemicals as well as high-pressure cleaners are not permitted, since the operations are required to work in an environmentally friendly way and without endangering passers-by.

Solution

A technically modified SRK with reduced heating and pump output. The systems are mounted on a truck and supplied via a water tank; the electrical power is provided by an additional emergency generator. With a sky worker, the employee goes up to the working height of about 7 metres with a PI brush and the necessary removal tools. Only water is used for cleaning.

Benefits of low-pressure hot-water cleaning technology

  • Enormous gain in time and working comfort. Concretely, the total time could be reduced from 60 minutes to under 15 minutes.
  • No use of chemicals
  • Mobile system
  • Low resource consumption compared with high pressure
