In the professional servicing and repair of cars and commercial vehicles, thorough yet gentle cleaning of vehicle parts is essential to ensure the performance, longevity and safety of your components. Find out what matters when cleaning vehicle parts, which methods are used in modern workshops, and why ph-cleantec’s innovative solutions are, in many cases, the best choice for your workshop.

What matters when cleaning vehicle parts?

Cleaning vehicle parts is a decisive step in the servicing and repair process. The following aspects should be considered:

  • Effective removal of contamination: oil, grease, brake dust, road dirt and corrosion residues must be reliably removed to ensure the parts function optimally.
  • Gentle treatment: sensitive components such as sensors, electronics or aluminium parts must not be damaged.
  • Time and cost efficiency: fast cleaning processes minimise downtime and reduce costs.
  • Environmental protection: the use of environmentally friendly cleaning agents and processes is essential today.

Methods for cleaning vehicle parts in professional workshops

Workshops use various cleaning methods, including:

  • Chemical cleaning: the use of solvents and cleaning agents, e.g. in the form of cold washing tables, bio washing tables or A1 brake sprays. The chemicals used are often harmful to the environment and, if used improperly, can cause damage to the parts but above all harm to health.
  • Ultrasonic cleaning: effective for small, complex parts, but time-consuming and not always suitable for larger components. Expensive to buy and to run.
  • High-pressure cleaning: fast removal of coarse dirt, but risky for sensitive parts and complex geometries. Only usable in separate wet rooms or outdoors.
  • Manual cleaning: time-consuming and subjective, with a higher risk of uneven results.

Advantages of low-pressure hot-water cleaning over common methods

ph-cleantec’s innovative cleaning method is based on the low-pressure hot-water method: the devices work at low pressure of 7.5–14 bar, but at 95 °C. The high temperatures quickly and easily remove the mostly oily and greasy contamination, while the low pressure is entirely sufficient to carry it away.

The devices are mobile and, thanks to the low pressure, can be used anywhere in the workshop without “flooding” it. This means you can easily work in the pit or under the lift, for example – the vehicle parts can be cleaned directly “on site” and do not have to be removed and transported to a cleaning station.

Only small amounts of cleaning medium are needed, too – tap water, or tap water with a little alkaline cleaning agent (“soap”). This makes the method particularly easy on the environment and health, and also particularly cost-effective, as it saves the cost of expensive chemicals and their disposal.

The ph-cleantec method therefore offers numerous advantages:

  • Gentle on materials: the low pressures protect sensitive materials and surfaces – no rejects.
  • Efficient and thorough: even stubborn dirt such as oil, grease and road grime is removed reliably and much faster than, say, with a cold or bio washing table.
  • Environmentally friendly: no harmful solvents – only small amounts of tap water and, where needed, far smaller amounts of alkaline cleaning agent are used. The machines are also built so that the cleaning medium can be reused several times.
  • Cost savings: instead of expensive solvents, at most small amounts of alkaline cleaning agent are needed. Energy consumption and disposal costs are minimal too. Above all, however, 90% or more of the working time is often saved: cleaning in 5–10 minutes instead of an hour is the rule, not the exception. If the (saved) travel times are added, the time savings are even greater.
  • Versatility: the devices are suitable for all common vehicle parts, from engines to body parts, and can be used anywhere in the workshop, including in the pit or under the lift.

Cleaning car brakes directly at the lift saves removal and refitting time as well as travel time. Waste water is collected in the device and recycled.

Which devices do we recommend?

On our website ph-cleantec.de you’ll find a selection of innovative cleaning devices developed specifically for the demands of workshops:

Many customers choose our 1000 SC combined with our 1000 KW waste-water collection tray; depending on the application, we also recommend the 1000 SR or the 1500 SR-DP.
